The Bird Who Looked Too Far

There once was a small bird who lived by the ocean. Every morning, she would perch on the highest branch and watch the sun spill its colors across the waves. She loved her home it was warm, familiar, and full of gentle winds.

But one day, while listening to travelers talk, she heard about the stars. Endless worlds, mysteries greater than the sea, and questions that stretched beyond sight. The bird’s heart swelled with longing. If the sky is infinite, then surely I must fly as far as I can to know it.

So she set off. She flew over mountains, forests, and deserts. She chased horizons until her wings ached. She found wonders lakes that shone like mirrors, fields that hummed with life, and skies that glittered with constellations. Yet, with every new place, she felt a small ache in her chest. Something was missing.

At last, exhausted, the bird returned to her branch by the ocean. The waves greeted her like old friends, the wind carried familiar scents, and her heart felt full again. She realized she had been searching for the vastness of the universe without noticing that she carried a piece of it within her all along the rhythm of the tides, the warmth of the sun, the love for her nest.

From then on, the bird still dreamed of the stars, but she no longer felt lost chasing them. She understood that to explore the universe, she only needed to look closely at her own wings, her home, and the beating of her heart.

And every evening, as the stars appeared above the ocean, the little bird smiled. She had traveled far and returned home, but this time she truly understood both.
